Instax Mini 8 by Fujifilm - Polaroid Camera Review

One of my recent purchases which I am super excited about is my new Polaroid Camera! I have been thinking about buying one for a while and after doing some research, I decided to get the Instax Mini 8 Polaroid Camera by Fujifilm. I absolutely love it! It is such a great camera, super easy to use, and has really great quality photos.

They come in 5 colors including Pink, Yellow, Blue, White, and Black. I went with blue because it reminded me of the ocean and I figured I would be using it most at the beach. I purchased mine at Michaels. While it is priced higher here then in other stores, they do allow you to use a 40% off coupon (which can always be found in their Weekly Ad or online) which makes it worth it. The camera is originally $119 but with the coupon it comes to $71.99.

The camera itself is really simple to use. All you have to do is turn it on, adjust the dial to the lit position, and shoot! The camera is pretty lightweight. I throw it in mu purse most of the time and as you can see from my picture above, its pretty small. The photo's it takes are the size of a credit card. Each pack of film has 10 photos. The film can be fairly expensive. I found it cheapest to order from amazon.com.

Amazon has "Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Twin Pack Instant Film" for $13.40. Basically, its 2 packs of film (20 photos total) for $13.40 so its a much better deal then buying the film in stores! Amazon also has a lot of fun film you can order including disney, hello kitty, and other various patterns. I also ordered the Alice & Wonderland film which I am excited to use! The themed film is more expensive. Disney Alice and Wonderland film I ordered was $13.10 for one pack (10 photos).

After about a month of having my polaroid, I wanted to find something cute to do with all of my pictures. I got this idea from a picture I had seen on Instagram. All I did was take a piece of natural colored yarn and attach each polaroid using some mini clothes pins i had found in my arts and crafts box. I had also added some photo booth strips and a mini dream catcher key chain in the center which I thought added a nice touch!

All in all, I am super happy with my purchase. I love taking a picture and having it in my hand a few moments later. It's also fun watching it develop and waiting to see how it comes out. My friends all love it and it is a great party accessory as well! People love using it and having a memory they can take home.

Hope my post inspires you to get a Polaroid of your own!

Spring Style - Fashion Haul Part 2

The high-waisted style that emerged early last spring, is definitely style going to be a trend we see a lot of this spring. I personally love all things cut high waisted! Jeans, dress pants, shorts, and skirts - i own and wear in a high-waisted style! They are actually really flattering in the way they accentuate a girl's waistline. High waisted jeans or dress pants can also make a casual outfit more dressy like tucking in a looser fitted Tee or tank!

In the spring or summer, my go-to outfit is a pair of high waisted shorts and cropped top. I found these shorts at Pacsun a couple of weeks ago and ended up buying the style in 3 colors because they fit me so well! It's hard finding a good pair of high-waisted shorts! They are called Bullhead Denim Co Mom Shorts and were $36.95 each before tax. (Links to purchase below pictures)

I am not sure if you can tell in the picture, but they have a single rolled hem and were very flattering on me. On me they did not cut too tightly at the thigh which many shorts with a rolled hem tend to do!

Bullhead Denim Co Mom Rambler Shorts - $36.95 HERE

The blue jean denim shorts are no longer on the website, but check stores if interested!

With my high-waisted shorts outfit, I typically throw on a pair of combat boots and cute trouser socks for a pop of color. This spring because I am going to be traveling and running around a bit I wanted to get a few pairs of sneakers. I fell in love with these tiffany blue high-top converse! Because I was shopping at the Converse Outlet, I got a great deal and went with a pair in white as well!

The exact color of the converse pictured above is called "Beach Glass" and they were $49.99 at full price in the outlet. The white pair pictured below was marked down in store to $29.97. However, in the Tanger Outlet Coupon book there was a deal for $15 off your purchase of $75 or more!

My grand total for both pairs came to $67.97!

My last stop at the Tanger Outlets this trip was to Jcrew. I have mentioned before what great deals I always find at these outlets and this was no different! In-store they had a 50% off entire purchase of already marked down prices.

As I had just said, I love wearing trouser socks with my boots or sneakers for a pop color and thought these three pairs were too cute for spring! Two have an all-over anchor print and the third pair has little yellow pineapples! The socks came to $4.25 each!

Factory Critter Socks - HERE (Online Price $6.50)

Also in my hand I am holding a skinny leather waist belt I picked up to go with my shorts. This was the only on I found and it was only $5.52 ! The color of the belt I really just loved and the metal closure which sadly you cannot see in my picture is gold. I have already worn it a bunch with my high waisted jeans and chambray shirts tucked in! These skinny waist belts are definitely a must for anyone wanting to wear the high-waisted style!

I actually found the link to the belt on their factory website as well! Although its not as cheap online, I would recommend this belt to anyone! I purchased mine in the "English Saddle" color.

Spring Style - Fashion Haul Part 1

As warmer weather approaches, it is time for us to update some of our necessary style pieces! I have been carrying the same purse since fall and really wanted something new for spring. While I still love my latest bag of choice, it was time for a change. Along with my purse, I had been using a Kate Spade Sandra Wellelsley Patent Stripe Flap Wallet in Black/White. It definitely gave off a wintery vibe!

I had been in and out of Kate Spade a few times the past couple months, but could not find anything I really loved! Then the other day I found the cutest floral printed wallet that definitely screamed spring/summer! Best of all, it went perfectly with my current green purse! Rather then buy a whole new bag, I decided to just switch out my old wintery wallet for a more suitable spring option!

This is the Kate Spade Stacy Southport Avenue Floral Wallet. The Original Price for this wallet was $178. The outlet price was 95. After discounts, I paid $48.45 before tax! Great deal!

Although it is rather small for a wallet, it actually holds a lot more then you think! It has a lot of room for credit cards, which for me is great because I always have a ton of gift cards and membership cards! As you can see in the picture below, it has 13 credit card slots. But note that you can double up on cards and the wallet will still close with ease! Below the credit card slots, there are 2 more on each side that can hold cash, receipts, or more cards! There is also a zipper on the back for loose change!

I absolutely love my new wallet! I have gotten so many compliments and questions about when/where I got it. I never pay full price for my bags or wallets. I always shop Kate Spade at the Tanger Outlets! They really have great prices. Typically at the outlet everything is at least 40% off of the original store price. Then, they always have 30, 40, or 50 percent off of their outlet price! This time it was 40%! They often do an additional 20% on top of that, but you'll have to keep checking in because they don't let you know ahead of time! If there isn't an additional 20% you can always use your student ID at checkout. That's right! Kate Spade offers 15% to anyone with a valid student ID!

So make sure you check out Kate Spade at the Outlets if your in need of a new handbag or wallet! And don't forget your student IDs!

Target Home - Clearance Finds !

I recently had some really cute little finds at Target I thought I would share! I have been loving a lot of their home stuff lately. This tray I have had my eye on for a while. Originally the Nate Berkus Wood and Resin Hexagon Tray 16" was $34.99 and not a necessity so I didn’t buy it, but when I was at Target this past weekend I found it in the clearance section marked down to $10.08! I love it and it fits perfectly on my nightstand!

There were a few left at my local target. You can also find this item online however, online price is $27.99. Buy Here
Not too helpful in this case, but I did learn recently that target will match their online prices if you find an item on their site cheaper online then it is marked in store. All you have to do is bring the item to guest services and show them on your phone or other device!

The second item I got is this little picture frame (pictured to the farthest right in photo above). I am not sure what it was priced originally, because I can’t seem to find it online but I bought it for only $2.38! It is called Threshold Picture Frame in New Cream. I found it available in 4x6 size online at full price, but as you can tell from my picture mine is very small. Buy Bigger Size Here

I know I have not posted in a while, but I have started shopping for Spring and will be posting more later this week! Stay tuned! xoxo kirigirl

NYC Sample Sales: L*Space Swimwear !

Another Sample Sale in NYC! This seems to be the week for sample sales. There are so many I keep hearing about right now! Strange as it might be, bathing suits are actually my favorite thing to buy. Although it is the middle of winter and I will not be wearing these any time soon, I love buying new bikinis so I was very happy to find this sale! The showroom hosting the sample sale informed me that L*Space usually has a sample sale 2-3 times a year! I’ll be sure to share when I know about future ones! (I apologize for picture quality, horrible lighting and lots of editing for instagram!)

L*Space Audrey Halter Top Citrine (Original $73) – top left

L*Space Monique Bitsy Bottom in Pistachio (Original $66) – bottom left

PilyQ Blue Bell Tie Side String Bikini Bottom (Original $60) – bottom right

Altogether, I spent $93 on 3 bikini separates! The sample sale had all bottoms for $29 and tops for $33. It was a very good deal for these brands! I have been wanting to get an L*Space bikini forever, so the sample sale was the perfect excuse to buy one! L*Space is definitely one of my favorite swimwear designers. They always seem to be ahead of the trends. In my opinion, they were the ones that made the fringe style everyone loves so popular! L*Space is also a brand favorite of many celebrities! Other than the trendy cuts and vibrant colors, what I really love about their bikinis is that most of them our double-lined, making them SUPER comfy!

The last bottom I picked up, wasn’t L*Space, but a European line called PilyQ Swimwear. I had heard of the brand before but did not know that much about them. I loved these bottoms though and was happy to find a new brand I liked!

Because these are all 2013 styles, availability is pretty limited and most do not have any styles left still online! Therefore, I did not post any links this time, but if you google the Style Name of any of the ones I listed above you may get lucky and find your size! Bloomingdales has a similar cut of the same print for the PilyQ swimwear bottoms I picked up!

NYC Sample Sales: Vanessa Mooney !

So, recently I have discovered I have a new found obsession with sample sales! Vanessa Mooney is a really cool designer based out of LA. I became familiar with the brand while interning at Bohemian (local boutique to my college campus, University of South Carolina). We sold a lot of Vanessa Mooney pieces at Bohemian and I absolutely loved them all! Each piece is very unique and her line has a very bohemian feel to it. It can be a bit pricey, which is why I was super excited to hear they were having a sample sale in the city! And even better, just two blocks from my office!
